While participating in the Escalante Arts Festival in September, 2016. Escalante I took a drive down the Smokey Mnt. dirt road and saw this rock feature on the way back. Any of the country in that part of Utah is special. Better know as the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument is fairly remote and really wild. Beautiful desert rock formations in ochre, red and shades of grey are so fun to paint. Good stuff.
