This rock featured and wonderful old Juniper were right behind where I was camped during the Escalante Arts Festival in September 2016. I didn’t have to go far to paint his one. Escalante is a really special place. Any of the country in that part of Utah is special. Better know as the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument is fairly remote and really wild. Beautiful desert rock formations in ochre, red and shades of grey are so fun to paint. Good stuff.
