I finally have the photos and video all downloaded and organized from the Long Ride North. For all of you new commers, thanks for signing up by the way, my wife Kathy and I and her brother Tim and his wife, rode our Harleys to Alaska this summer. For some day by day blogs of the trip look over to the right side of the screen and select LRN under the “Post Catagories” which will bring up writings and photos from the trip. Anyway…I finally got the photos and video organized into which day what was taken or filmed. Turns out I have 217 gigs of data…no wonder it took so long to sort out.

We each had digital cameras and we had two GoPro cameras running. I don’t know how many hours of video we have but there are just under 4,000 still iamges. What made the task somewhat grueling was that the date and time stamps on everything were off for some reason. Not by just a little bit but by days, or even months. The only thing left to do of course was to go over each photo and video to determine which day folder it belonged in. Turned out that even though it took a long time, we had a blast going over the material, reliving the trip. Here are a couple favorites that are representative of the trip. I don’t think these were previously published in the trip blog.

This grizzly was grazing alonside the road we were on. Of course we had to pull over and get some pics. This one is courtesy of Tim. Turns out that the tornoff for our campground was just 1/4 mile down the road. Taken just outside of Haines Junction, BC.

This is part of the Athbaca Falls on the Athbaca River. It was just incredible the force of that water as well as the volume going over the falls. An unbelievable amount of power there. Impressive for sure.

This last phot below is one that typified much of our ride. That’s sister-in-law Donna on her bike ahead of me on a lonely part of a highway somewhere in the North Country. There was a lot of rainy days. Almost half of the trip had some portion of the day with rain or all rain. This is one of my favorite shots.
