Beginning the Long Ride Home on the Long Ride North

We sadly left Homer, Alaska yesterday to begin our Long Ride Home. It’s been an amazing ride and we have no regrets other than to wish we had more time. When I gassed up in Homer, the mileage indicator on the Harley showed 4042 miles since we left Montrose, CO. Last night we were in Wasilla in the same room at the same hotel we were in a few days ago. I was looking at the map scouting our return route and realized that we still have 4000 miles to go. Wow! I think we will take the Cassier Hwy back down through British Columbia. We’ll come into Jasper, Alberta for a bit and then come back into British Columbia just before Lake Louise and visit Radium Hot Springs for a soak and hopefully spend the night there. We did this back in ’07 and really enjoyed it there. Then down through Kalispell, MT and depending on how much time we have will determine how we go from there.

Here’s a great shot of us on the coast with a volcano behind us.

Obviously we corrected our notification problem and have resumed regular programming.

Stay tuned and I’ll bring you more updates as they become available.
