Today I launch the promotional project for our motorcycle adventure  to Alaska, The Long Ride North. The name for our trip was inspired by the rides that Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGregor took  riding their motorcycles around the world from England heading East all the way across Europe and Russia, Mongolia, flying across the Bering Straight to Alaska, down through Canada, across the US to New York and back to England in the Long Way Round. On a second journey, The Long Way Down, they traveled from Scotland down through Africa to Cape Town. While their adventures took them more than 3 months, ours is limited to 30 days.

Originally we were just going to ride north for 14 days then turn around and head home. No agenda, no schedules. Ride as far as we wanted each day, stopping here and there to take in the sites and meet the folks along the way. Out of curiosity, we decided to see how far we might get in our allotted time and it turns out that we should easily make it to Alaska and still have time to enjoy the ride…or so we think. In any event we aim to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. As described in the poster, I will be doing some roadside sketches in watercolor, videoing the entire trip as well as taking still photography to document our journey.

The program is described in the above poster. This going to be an adventure of a lifetime for us and here is your opportunity to help make this a reality and be rewarded for your interest.

Here are your options to “ride” along as far as you’d like to:
