This desert scene is from near Wickenburg, AZ. I’ve painted a couple of times in the Arizona desert and each time I have found it to be a real challenge. For me the best time of the day is the golden hour, late in the day when the shadows grow long. Desert colors at that time are magical.
An original 10 x 14 image watercolor using professional grade Winsor & Newton paints in a hand gilded 23kt frame and fillet with a linen mat and museum glass. I do my own gilding and framing.
